Kaveri Baruah, a media marketer, shared with YouTube channel Sweekriti Talks that southern stars often come with a large entourage and three levels of managers, where their managers also have managers. “Before I met him, we had a note with 42 do’s and don’ts. And they have a manager for a manager for a manager,” she shared. “They have a great manager, then another manager who reports to that manager. And they are very strict. Don’t look the man in the eye, don’t shake his hand…” he said, as the interviewer burst out laughing.

When the interviewer asked Kaveri about more such rules, she said, “One-hand distance. And you can’t use your phone, of course. When he came in, I was sitting to the side. I’m just doing my job.’ He said, ‘No phones allowed.'”

What Karan Johar and Sanjay Gupta said about the problems in the Bollywood environment

In recent months, conversations about the cost of Bollywood celebrities’ entourage have been gaining steam. In a previous talk with Cyrus Broacha, director Sanjay Gupta shared that some Bollywood stars have an entourage of 30 people. He also revealed that certain stars have six dressing tables. “I know certain actors who have six makeup vans. It’s mandatory. The first van is their personal space. This is real; I’m very serious. Wahan saab nanga baithte hain (The man sits naked in that truck). Then, next to it is the other Saab van, wahan pe saab makeup and hairstyle map hain (There the man puts on his makeup and hair). Uske baaju mein is van jahan saab hain meeting map (In the truck next door, the man has his meetings). Listen to me. There is a fourth van, which has its gym. Wahan saab grove training map (The man works there). I said fine. You have to keep one thing in mind; Training van means you will bring your trainer, your assistant, the van driver and the van maintainer. There are six people per van. Then, makeup and hair and stylists have their own assistants,” he revealed.

In another chat with Komal Nahta, Karan Johar spoke about rising entourage costs and said he has an “ethical problem” with these costs. “My problem is actors who receive gigantic payments and still expect producers to pay for their basic needs. Show some grace. I find it strange when these small problems become points of contention. I don’t understand why some actors travel with six or eight people in their entourage,” he said.
