The recently released teaser and poster of Dhurandhar: revenge offered key details about the film’s release strategy. The poster confirms that after its theatrical release on March 19, 2026, the sequel will stream on JioHotstar and then telecast on Star Gold. This marks a notable change from the digital journey of the first film, which premiered on Netflix India on January 30, eight weeks after its theatrical release.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s digital rights sold for Rs 150 crore
Further to a report by Bollywood Hungama, it was revealed that the digital rights of Dhurandhar 2 were sold for a staggering amount of Rs 150 crore.
A source told the publication, “Netflix wanted to buy both the facilities together for a sum of Rs 175 crore before the release of the first part. But with immense faith in their product, Jio Studios waited for the release of the first part and got a whopping deal of Rs 150 crore for the second part alone. This is almost double what Netflix paid to acquire the first part.”
The report added that the digital rights of Dhurandhar Part One were sold for Rs 85 crore, while the sequel fetched a significantly higher price. “The Rs 150 crore received by Jio Studios is one of the biggest digital deals in recent years as OTT players have generally slowed down on the acquisition front. But Dhurandhar’s runaway success, helped by audience demand, has pushed players to pay a premium,” the source said.
Dhurandhar 2 will release on JioHotstar in May 2026.
Dhurandhar Trends at Number One on Netflix in the Middle East and Pakistan
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, continues to dominate the OTT audiencecrossing borders despite theatrical restrictions in key regions. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is ranked number one on Netflix in multiple territories including India, Pakistan, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting its sustained post-theatrical momentum.
Netflix’s latest weekly rankings reveal that Dhurandhar debuted at the top in Pakistan during the tracking period from January 26 to February 1 and similarly secured the number one spot in several other markets. Even in the Gulf regions where the film was denied permission to be shown in cinemas, it managed to perform well on the platform, ranking at number 7 in Saudi Arabia and number 3 in Kuwait.

The film recently topped the week’s ‘Top 10 Non-English World Movies’ list, clocking up 7.6 million views and 26.1 million viewing hours. Netflix clarifies that views are calculated “by total hours viewed divided by running time.”
Dhurandhar, which released in theaters on December 5, 2025, became one of the biggest hits of the year, earning a global total of Rs 1,328.23 crore, including Rs 879.75 crore from India.

The preview of the sequel. shows Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza Mazari asserting his control over Lyari and marking the beginning of his journey to power. The spy thriller also promises to explore his life even before he officially becomes a spy.
Dhurandhar 2, which will be released in five languages - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, is set for a high-profile clash at the box office with Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups.
