राशीन(ता.कर्जत,जि. अहमदनगर) येथील शिवदास कटके हे कर्जत तालुक्यांमध्ये सर्वत्र सर्पमित्र म्हणुन परिचित आहेत. परिसरांमध्ये कोठेही साप दिसल्यानंतर त्यांना बोलाविण्यात येत असते ,कटके यांनी आत्तापर्यंत तीन हजार साप पकडुन सुरक्षित स्थळी सोडले आहेत. राशीन येथील लोकवस्तींमध्ये साप दिसल्यानंतर तातडीने कटके यांना बोलाविण्यात आले.ते कोणतीही दिरंगाई न करता घटनास्थळी दाखल झाले. पाहताक्षणी सदर साप ही विषारी नाग असल्याचे त्यांच्या लक्षात आले. त्यांनी शिताफीने नाग पकडला परंतु त्यादरम्यान नागाने त्यांच्या उजव्या मनगटावर दंश केला त्यामधुन सावरत असतानाच नागाने पुन्हा डाव्या हातावरही दुसरा दंश केला. यापुर्वीही साप पकडत असताना त्यांना सर्पदंश झाला होता त्यामुळे यावेळीही त्यांनी सर्पदंशानंतर तातडीने रुग्नालयामध्ये न जाता दोन तास घरगुती उपचार केले. सर्पदंशानंतर उपचारासाठी महत्वाचे असलेले पहिले दोन तास दवडल्यामुळे त्यांची प्रकृती ढासळली. त्यानंतर त्यांना येथील यशोधरा आय.सी.यु. हॉस्पिटलमध्ये दाखल करण्यात आले परंतु त्यापुर्वीच त्यांची शुध्द हरपली व ते धोकादायक परिस्थितीमध्ये पोहोचले होते.
