Congress Party (SP) national president Sharad Pawar was rushed to a hospital in Pune from Baramati on Monday afternoon. His wife. Pratibha Pawar, his daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule accompanied him to the city’s Ruby Hall Clinic.
“He would be admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic,” Kiran Gujar, a close aide of the family, said earlier.
Dr PK Grant, administrative manager at Ruby Hall Clinic, confirmed to The indian express that Sharad Pawar will be taken to the hospital for treatment. “We received a call that Sharad Pawar needed treatment and our medical team will assess his health status,” Dr Grant said.
NCP (SP) spokesperson Ankush Kakade said Pawar had a persistent cough and would be taken to Pune for a health checkup. “There’s nothing to worry about,” he said.
Pawar and other family members have been meeting people and receiving condolences at the Sahyug Society in Baramati, where Ajit Pawar’s family has been staying for the last four-five days.
NCP (SP) sources said that despite feeling unwell and weak, Pawar has joined Ajit Pawar’s family in their hour of crisis. Pawar also held two separate meetings with Parth and Jay, sons of Ajit Pawar, to establish a grand memorial in honor of their father at Vidya Pratishthan.
Ajit Pawar died on January 28 in a plane crash.
