Residents within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have shown very positive response in paying property taxes during the current financial year, the civic administration said on Wednesday.
Of the 7,32,302 properties registered in the city, 5,26,226 owners have paid their taxes so far.
Meanwhile, 2,06,076 property owners are yet to pay their dues, according to Sachin Pawar, deputy commissioner of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department.
He urged those who have not yet paid to immediately clear the current year’s property tax and any arrears.
PCMC offered several concessions to citizens who paid their property taxes during the first and second quarters.
Many residents took advantage of these discounts and paid the tax on time, leading to a significant increase in tax collections, the administration said.
“In addition, property owners are making payments in large amounts through the various convenient methods provided by the Corporation, including online, cash, checks and E-DCS. There has been a particularly strong response to the online system, which makes the process simpler, faster and more transparent. Property owners who have not yet paid their taxes are encouraged to do so to avoid late payment fees and legal action under the rules of the Department of Assessment and Collection of Taxes,” the administration said.

Pimpri Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge urged property owners to pay their property taxes immediately, stating that PCMC has provided several easy payment platforms. “Paying on time will help avoid late fines, as well as property seizures or other legal actions. For the convenience of citizens, the 18 regional tax collection offices in the city have remained open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays,” Landge said.
