Minimum temperature in Pune stable at 14 degrees Celsius, clear sky ahead | Pune News

The minimum temperature in and around Pune seems to have stabilized in the range of 14°C, leading to relatively cooler mornings since the mercury touched 18.2°C in late January.

According to the Shivajinagar station, the minimum temperature on February 4 was 14.9°C, 2.9°C above normal. Pashan station recorded almost the same temperature in the morning. NDA experienced the coolest morning, recording 13.1°C. The minimum temperature, however, changed as one traveled through the areas. Magarpatta and Chinchwad had the highest minimum temperature at nearly 20°C, while Lavale was 16.2°C.

According to SD Sanap, a scientist at the Indian Meteorological Department, there could be a normal rise of 2-3°C in morning temperatures in the coming days. Shivajinagar is forecast to record a morning temperature of 15°C on February 5, falling to 14°C on February 6-8 and then rising again to 15°C on February 9-10.

Chinchwad, Magarpatta and Koregaon Park will continue to be the warmest areas, with morning temperatures hovering around 18-19°C. “Southeasterly winds bring moisture from the Bay of Bengal to the region, while cold, dry northerly winds have weakened, conditions that are responsible for higher morning temperatures,” Sanap said.

The minimum temperature was above normal across Maharashtra, with the highest output in central Maharashtra. Nashik woke up to 14.8°C on February 4, 4.8°C above normal. Ahilyanagar had the lowest minimum temperature of 14.3°C, 2.2°C above normal, on February 4.

The daytime temperature has remained stable at 30°C for several days. The maximum temperature in Pune On February 4 the temperature was 30.5°C, only 0.5 degrees below normal. The Met Office has said skies will be clear for the next few days, before clouds start to appear towards the afternoon and evening from February 8.
