Jeweler found dead in Pune hotel, displayed in | Pune News

A 27-year-old businessman belonging to a prominent jeweler family from Wai in Satara district was found dead in a hotel in Pune city on Saturday afternoon.

Police identified the deceased as Piyush Ashok Oswal. He was found dead in room number 405 of the Mukesh hotel, located near the Geeta Society in the Pune Camping area, around 1:00 p.m. Prima facie, the police suspect that Piyush committed suicide.

According to the police, Piyush checked into the hotel around 1 am. At around 1:00 p.m., hotel staff informed the police that he had allegedly committed suicide.

Following the information, a team from the Bundgarden police station went to the scene to investigate. The police informed the family of the deceased and sent the body to a hospital for autopsy.

“No suicide note was recovered. As per legal procedure, an accidental death report has been lodged and an investigation is underway to confirm the cause behind the incident,” said police sub-inspector Ganesh Chavan of Bundgarden police station.

Police said Piyush was not married and was involved in jewelery business. He belonged to the family of a well-known jewelery businessman from Wai, the police added.
