Western Railway to launch 12 AC local trains next week, check dates, routes and timings

Mumbai Suburban Railway Network, Upgrade of Mumbai Suburban Railway: He Western Railway (WR) The zone will introduce 12 new air-conditioned local train services, offering a more comfortable travel experience to passengers over Mumbai Suburban Network. These new trains will replace existing non-AC services.

“Keeping in mind the popularity and growing demand from commuters, Western Railway has decided to increase the number of local AC services throughout the year. Bombay Suburban section,” the regional railway reported.

With these, the total number of AC local train services on Western Railway will now be 121. According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Director Public Relations, Western Railway, there has been a substantial increase in the number of commuters traveling on AC local trains. Therefore, for the benefit of passengers and to relieve the crowd, 12 AC services more than WR are being expanded by replacing the existing non-AC 12 car services.

In a statement, the zonal railway said that these new AC local trains will be introduced from January 26. These services will operate as AC services on all days of the week. There will be no change in the total number of services i.e. the count of local services is 1,406 including 121 AC local train services.

In a statement, Western Railway stated that of the 12 additional services being introduced, 6 services are in UP direction and 6 services are in DOWN direction.

In UP direction, there are 2 services each between Virar – Churchgate and Goregaon – Churchgate and one service each between Borivali – Churchgate and Bhayandar – Churchgate. Similarly, in DOWN direction, there are 2 services each between Churchgate – Virar and Churchgate – Goregaon and one service each between Churchgate – Bhayandar and Churchgate – Borivali.
