In a bid to facilitate repair work, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will impose a 24-hour schedule. Water cuts through parts of MumbaiEastern suburbs and Thane city between January 27 and 28. The civic body said the water cut will be implemented in parts of S (Bhandup) and T (Mulund) wards of the city along with a small area in Thane.
Starting January 27, the BMC has chalked out plans to shift water connections to a 2,750 mm diameter Upper Vaitarna main canal near Mulund West. During the same period, in Bhandup West, the authorities are planning to install an iron cover on the 2,400 mm diameter Vaitarna canal in Khindipada area. The repair work will be carried out between 10 a.m. on January 27 (Tuesday) and 10 a.m. on January 28 (Wednesday).
To pave the way for repair work, a 24-hour water cut will be imposed in parts of S and T districts along with some areas of Thane city. In view of the works, the civic body has urged citizens to use water wisely and boil it for the next few days.
