Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis termed the India-US trade deal as the beginning of a new chapter of friendship, which will be fruitful and long-lasting.

US President Donald Trump on Monday announced a sharp cut in US tariffs from 50 percent to 18 percent under a trade deal with India.
Among the world’s major exporting economies, Fadnavis said, “India enjoys a preferential tariff rate from the United States. This marks the beginning of a new era in India-US friendship.”
According to Fadnavis, the agreement opens up interesting possibilities for Indian companies and will benefit both nations.
“Maharashtra has always been a leader in exports and now this agreement will open new horizons for our business. Reciprocally, Maharashtra will receive investments in data centers, artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technologies,” he emphasized.
