One of Usha Uthup’s biggest songs, “Rambha Ho” from Anand Sagar’s 1981 film Armaan, has gained new life thanks to Aditya Dhar. Dhurandhar period spy thriller. Reimagined by Shashwat Sachdev, the encore song filmed on Ranveer Singh has been sung by Madhubanti Bagchi. However, Usha doesn’t mind the regurgitation. In fact, she’s just celebrating.
“Someone sent me the link. So I was like, ‘Wow! What is this? This is fabulous.'” I’m not one of those people who feels bad because someone else sang this. “I am very happy,” Usha told Radio Nasha. “For her to come back with such a bang is incredible. And of course, Madhubanti has sung it very well,” he added. The singer revealed that the makers did not approach her to get her blessing for the encore version.
Usha Uthup also praised Madhumati in a recent interview with Republic TV. “Madhubanti has done a fabulous job. We also did a reel together at Trincas (a nightclub in Calcutta), which was amazing. I have always believed that the song is much bigger than the singer. Whoever sings ‘Rambha Ho’ will make it.” He added that while he has consistently performed “Rambha Ho” in his concerts for more than 40 years, Dhurandhar has provided even more traction to the song now.
“Really, who thought of it? In every show of mine, anyway, I have to sing ‘Rambha Ho’. But now it has a new strength and everyone is thanking God for Dhurandhar for making him so popular. I don’t know how many millions of views ‘Ramba Ho’ gets every second on what Generation Z calls Insta. “It’s amazing,” he said.
Usha Uthup has maintained that she doesn’t mind remixes as they help extend the life of the song by years. “I don’t consider it a remix at all. I’m not saying remixes are bad. But I wouldn’t say all remixes are bad. Because some tunes would be lost if there was no one to make another version. The younger generation probably wouldn’t have heard a song like ‘Babuji Zara Dheere Chalna’ if there was no one else to sing it,” Usha said in an interview with India Today.
Originally sung by Geeta Dutt, composed by OP Nayyar and written by Majrooh Sultanpuri for Guru Dutt’s 1954 black comedy Aar-Paar, “Babuji Dheere Chalna” has been reprized several times over the years. “I have always believed that a song is a song, and it will live forever if it has stood the test of time. And if people still want to sing ‘Ae Mere Zohra Jabeen’, why not? If we haven’t gotten Manna De to sing it, we have so many wonderful singers to sing it. I feel like the remixes are more good than bad,” Usha added.

Originally composed by Ravi and written by Sahir Ludhianvi, “Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen” from Yash Chopra’s 1965 blockbuster, Waqt, has also been recreated countless times since then.
