The entire superhero genre in general has had a rough couple of years, and Marvel Studios has borne the brunt of the grunt. While the studio has tried to reinvent itself After the events of Avengers Endgame, many of the projects were not received with much love. His journey into shows and miniseries has also yielded mixed results. Only a few have hit the mark. However, it looks like Marvel could score another show as a victory, with its new Wonder Man miniseries receiving praise from every avenue in town.
The series follows the life of Simon Williams, a struggling actor who wants to make it big in Hollywood. During his journey he runs into Trevor Slattery, which should bring back good memories for Marvel fans. For the unknown, Trevor is also an actor who was used as the pseudo-villain in Iron Man 3. Later, Tony Stark discovers the truth and catches the real villain during a thrilling climactic scene consisting of all of his Iron Man suits.
Trevor was also a part of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was one of the few Marvel films that did well from a critical and commercial standpoint. Now Wonder Man seems to be walking on the same page, and Rotten Tomatoes critics have given it a score of 90%. Mike Hale of the New York Times wrote: “Wonder Man is always charming, although, when Abdul-Mateen and Kingsley are together, they play a very odd couple whose Friendship is tested repeatedly. in the style of Midnight Cowboy, a film that unites them.”
Fans also took to social media to praise the series. One of the fans wrote in Another fan wrote: “The fact that they didn’t release the episodes weekly does the show a disservice. One of the best MCU shows, no doubt. Just really Combined in quality with both seasons of Loki..”
