While Border 2 opened to Rs 30 crore, more than Dhurandhar’s Rs 28 crore, it significantly improved its performance on the second day, posting an India net collection of Rs 36.5 crore, while the Ranveer Singh starrer’s earnings stood at Rs 32 crore. Now, the Sunny Deol-directed war epic has surpassed Dhurandhar for the third day in a row, earning Rs 54.5 crore against the latter’s Rs 43 crore on its first Sunday in theatres.
During the day, Border 2 witnessed an overall occupancy of 59.14 per cent in the Hindi market. At the current pace, Border 2 is on the verge of overtaking Jaat on day four. Meanwhile, the film has offered even more respite for Varun Dhawan, whose career had been on a steady decline for the past few years, with back-to-back box office flops and no single hit since. Bhediyawhich was not a great success either.
