Border 2 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 21.15% on Sunday. The film premiered with a modest occupancy of 9.12% during the morning shows, which saw a sharp jump to 30.36% in the afternoon. Attendance remained strong throughout the night at 30.09%, before falling to 15.02% during the evening shows.

Border 2 scored impressive numbers during the Republic Day weekend. However, it witnessed a larger-than-expected drop during weekdays. This trend continued into the second weekend as well, further slowing its box office trajectory. Border 2 released after the frenzy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar subsided, but it has failed to surpass Aditya Dhar’s directorial at the box office. The Spy grossed Rs 555.75 crore in India and Rs 847.25 crore worldwide in its first 17 days. Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 hit theaters a week after Border 2, but it didn’t provide any significant competition. On Friday, Vadh 2, starring Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra, released in theaters and grossed Rs 2.50 crore during its opening weekend.
