The world of comedy and talk shows suffered a major blow when CBS The Late Show with Stephen Colbert canceled. The decision was a shock to everyone because of the spectacle. It was one of the few television shows that still managed to stay afloat. Colbert has since taken to attacking the administration, often delivering explosive speeches during his opening monologues. Now, during a recent interview, Colbert revealed some important details about his professional future and when the show would come to an end.

Colbert was invited to Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he was interviewed. When Seth tried to talk about The Late Show being canceled, Colbert spit out his drink in shock, acting like he didn’t know. He noted that while he loved the show and what it did for him, he would certainly miss the people who worked with him on the show for over a decade.

He said: “Now it feels real. There’s only 4 months left on the show and I love doing it, but what I really love is the people I do it with. There are people I’ve been working with… I mean, my shoemaker; I’ve known him since 1988. You can do comedy in a lot of places, but there’s no place like the Ed Sullivan Theatre. But it’s really the people, and that’s what I really care about. That’s what I’m going to miss.” the majority. We will do something together again. But I’m not excited.”

When asked about his future projects, Colbert said he doesn’t want to close any doors. Seth asked him if the Netflix deal was just a rumor or if the streaming giants were actually offering him more than $13 million (Rs 119 crore). Colbert simply said, “There’s not enough money.” When asked if he’s running for president, Colbert noted that the way things are going, he may get paid more for that than he did with the Netflix deal.

He continued to joke with Seth and asked him if Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels was in the building. He told Seth, “Tell him I’m available in June. I don’t know if he’s still hiring. I need a showman. I mean, I’m good for money, but Evie (his wife) would want me to leave the house. I’d do a Bill Clinton impression.” Seth responded to this by saying, “If I told Lorne Michaels that you would work on a large scale, it would work.”

Colbert also revealed that the date of the final episode will be May 21. He also revealed that he would like to interview the new Pope before he hangs up his boots.
