Bollywood actors Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh have been together for almost four decades. despite the mountain of challenges they faced along the way. The two have been extremely candid about their lives, now more than ever, through Archana’s YouTube channel. In their latest video, the two recall the tumultuous time they endured in their early years, which included failed businesses, major career changes, and people betting on them to fail. The fact that Parmeet is seven years younger than Archana also compounded their difficulties, and they married at a time when Parmeet had failed in business and was dealing with depression.

‘Pandit asked us not to get married’

During the second episode of Archana’s new YouTube series ‘Pyaar Dosti Hai’, Parmeet and Archana sat down to talk about how money and financial turmoil shaped their relationship. Recalling the early years she met Parmeet, Archana said, “In today’s Gen Z parlance, you were a red flag. People say that about men who don’t earn money or are not settled. For a man, the woman being older was also a red flag. Our panditji said, ‘Looking at your kundli (birth chart), I would have advised you not to get married.’ He told us that we He must have been through a lot during the first few years..”

Parmeet Sethi was crying when she called Archana after the failure.

Parmeet agreed with the priest’s assessment and said that I couldn’t believe Archana was staying here. after he lost his business and everything he had invested in it. He said: “I had started a garment export business and received some good orders from Europe. I had set up the factory in Bengaluruand everything was going well, but suddenly all orders were cancelled. All the big brands suffered and everything fell apart for me. I remember calling you from an STD booth and I was crying. All my business was finished and I asked you, ‘Mai kya karu (What should I do)’? You just said, ‘Come back.’ “You gave me support that not many people would have given.”

‘I didn’t want a fighter as a husband’

Parmeet added, “I was completely depressed at that time and never used to get out of bed. I remember one of your producers came and you said, ‘Leave the check, and if it passes, only then I will give you the shooting dates.’ Seeing that, I thought, ‘This is a pretty good business.’ In my business, the money came months later, if at all. I realized that this (acting) is a business where you have to sell yourself, and I knew how to do that. So I decided to become actor.”

Archana added, “I always asked God that all my problems are financial. Because those problems can be faced, but what happens when someone leaves or something happens to someone? To this day I wish for the same. We recently had a significant financial loss.and you told me: ‘You asked for this.’ But at that time I told you: ‘Bittu (Parmeet), it is a financial problem; At least the two of us are together.’”

The actress admitted that she wasn’t exactly excited about the idea of Parmeet trying her hand at acting. He chimed in and said, “You told me, ‘I don’t want a boyfriend with problems.'” Archana sat down and said, “I thought you couldn’t be an actor because you were so introverted. You didn’t even crack jokes, and that was my limited thinking. If I felt you had talent, I would never have said no, but I’m glad you never listened to me. I never really thought about you not winning, because I thought, ‘I’m winning, so what’s the problem?’ “That was the idea: that it didn’t matter if the boy or the girl made money.”
