Netflix has officially entered the Telugu original space with an unlikely and timely comedy centered on sex education. Super Subbu, the streamer’s first original Telugu series, finds humor in contradiction: its protagonist is the last person you would expect to teach the subject assigned to him.
The series follows Subbu, a perpetually unfortunate young man who wishes to free himself from his overbearing father. His ticket to independence comes in the form of a teaching job, only to discover that he has been hired to teach sex education in the deeply conservative town of Makhipur. The twist that fuels the comedy is simple and effective: Subbu is a virgin. The latest trailer, released Tuesday, leans into her discomfort as she navigates lessons about consent, boundaries, and basic sexual awareness, quietly highlighting how conversations about family planning and consent remain absent in many rural areas of the country.

What unfolds is a series of awkward, funny, and revealing encounters, where innocence collides with long-needed awareness. Sundeep Kishan plays the hapless Subbu, with Mithila Palkar as the female lead.
