During the event, Alia Bhatt spoke about a terrifying and deeply personal experience from her childhood when her babysitter died in a car accident. On another occasion, at the same event, influencer Rajani Jain, known as Chatori Rajani, shared her heartbreaking story of losing her son in a similar accident. He lost his 16-year-old son Taran in a road accident in 2025.
Later, Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to reflect on the emotional moments of the event. She shared Alia’s reaction while recounting her own loss and also talked about how she got emotional after hearing Rajani’s story.

In his blog, Big B mentioned a lady wearing a yellow saree (Rajani) and talked about how her son died in a road accident and how he could have been saved if passersby had taken him to the hospital on time. She wrote: “She lost her son in a car accident… no one came to help her and she lost him… she later found out at the hospital that he had been brought in earlier and could have saved him… A brave lady who came up on this public platform and shared this incident publicly, without any malice, but rather a plea for future humans to emulate him….”

Chatori Rajani says her son could have been saved
While talking about his ordeal and how he lost his teenage son in a road accident, Chatori Rajani said that the good Samaritan who took him to the hospital later told him that he wished he had not listened to others who advised him not to help his son. He said if he had taken the teen to the hospital sooner, he could have been saved. He called for more empathy for accident victims and the need for immediate help.
Alia gets emotional hearing Rajani talk about her son
Sharing how Alia became emotional upon hearing the woman’s ordeal, Amitabh Bachchan further wrote, “And if a celebrity sitting next to her, herself a recent mother of a 3-year-old daughter, while explaining the moment, becomes emotional and cannot speak anymore… expresses not only the bravery of the Lady in Yellow but, as per my suggestion, design a campaign around this unfortunate moment and give others time to think that tomorrow one could be in a similar situation and seek that much-needed help to save a life.”

Alia Bhatt opens up about her babysitter’s death in a car accident
At the event, Alia Bhatt recalled the emotional incident from her childhood and said, “When I was 12, there was a lady who was very close to me. You can call her my babysitter. But she was like a sister to me. Her name was Sharda. We lost her after a very tragic accident on the road. She was going to visit the temple with her partner while her partner was wearing a helmet, but she was not. Her truck was hit and she was declared dead on the spot. After that, there was this anxiety in the house that This can happen to anyone at any time. She warned the driver that she would fire him if he drove without me wearing a seat belt in the back seat, but I wore it because someone told me to.
