Mumbai Police have arrested four people in connection with the Shooting outside Bollywood director Rohit Shetty’s bungalow in Juhu in the early hours of Sunday. The four will be taken to the city, after which they are likely to be detained.
Meanwhile, a social media account claiming to belong to gangster Lawrency Bishnoi’s aide Shubham Lonkar, a wanted accused in the Baba Siddique murder caseand Aarzo Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the dismissal and threatened others in Bollywood to “line up”.
A senior officer said, “We have detained four people who are being brought to the city. As of now, there is no clarity on their role or any other details about their background.”
Sources, however, said they initially detained five people and all of them are in their early twenties. They were suspected of being involved in the shooting, after which they fled to Pune in a vehicle, sources said
“According to the CCTV footage, they were traced to Pune after which they were detained,” the officer said. They are likely to be arrested once they reach the city, a source said. The officer said the police had not received any complaint from Shetty about threats from any gang.
Meanwhile, a social media account titled Shubham Lonker Aarzo Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the dismissal. The Facebook post read: “Ram Ram, Jai Bajrang Bali to all the brothers. Today, we, Shubham Lonkar, Aarzoo Bishnoi, Hari Boxer and Harman Shandu, take the responsibility of the firing at film director Rohit Shetty’s house in Bombay. We sent him messages many times so that he would not interfere with our work, but he did not understand.”
The post also threatened that this was just a trailer and that if he didn’t listen, the next bullets would be “in his chest.” It further threatened the Bollywood industry.

“Amend your ways or your condition will be worse than that of Baba Siddique. To those we have called: line up or you will be left with no places to hide.” The post ends by saying: “There was only one, there is only one and there will only be one: Lawrence Bishnoi Group.”
A source said the post appears to be from the gang as it follows a similar modus operandi to past incidents. “They publish a post on a social media platform, delete it immediately and then circulate its screenshot on social media. This ensures that we do not get the URL of the post, through which we could trace the location from where it was uploaded,” the officer said.
An officer claimed that in the last few months they have not received any complaints from anyone in Bollywood about receiving threat calls from the Bishnoi gang.
